On Career Day in Varna, Dr. Mathias Kunze, founder and CEO of ONSITES, answered questions from visitors regarding the company as well as the present and future state of digitalization.

Why is ONSITES represented on Career Day in Varna?

Dr. Mathias Kunze:

“A new generation of Internet platforms to tackle the big challenges of our digital age“ – it was under this motto that ONSITES was founded in 2018. Endowed with a powerful team of currently twelve highly motivated people, we are predestined for software and web development as well as digital marketing, always on the lookout for intelligent and motivated minds in this field – today’s Career Day in Varna is no exception.

In what areas is ONSITES looking for new employees?

Dr. Mathias Kunze:

All current vacancies are available on our website for prospective applicants. To implement our interesting and challenging projects, we are currently seeking to occupy several positions as Web Developer, SEO Specialist, Social Media Specialist, Content Manager, as well as Data Processing Operative. We are recruiting both high professionals and graduates of universities as well as other higher-education institutions. In addition, we also provide options for internships so as to give students the opportunity to gain their first practical experiences alongside the academic education process as early as possible.

Occupations in software and web development as well as digital marketing are more popular than ever. How does ONSITES manage to link the two occupational fields in the implementation of its projects? 

Dr. Mathias Kunze:

Dr. Mathias Kunze:

Websites, platforms and online shops enable companies to present and sell their products and services all over the world. Thanks to networks and cloud services, internal corporate workflows are improved and facilitated as well. The digital shift has taken a variety of industrial sectors by surprise in recent years. Many companies have attempted to jump on the digital bandwagon – some have succeeded while others have failed. Digitalization is not going to lose any of its momentum or significance. The opposite is more likely to be the case: A massive progression can be expected over the coming years. Against this backdrop, it is imperative to provide digital solutions that are always technologically up to date. We see these developments as our opportunity, and translate current developments and trends into intelligent and creative solutions that provide critical added value to users. Despite all of its benefits, digitalization involves some risks as well. Hacker attacks and security holes can have devastating consequences.

What are the current developments and trends in digital business? 

Dr. Mathias Kunze:

It firstly needs to be said that almost any business is increasingly marketed online. Using modern technologies, companies collect and process important user data in an effort to use them for further business activities in a profitable manner. Big Data, in its capacity of extended data analysis, has long become the most important currency in digital business as it allows tailored advertising. However, a new trend is already emerging: By now it has become possible to generate individually tailored content for users, i.e. fully personalized and relevant content that goes far beyond the scope of a mere personal address. Content like this may not only includes a text but also a specificallly customized design. Another current development is voice commerce, i.e. direct communication and natural user address, bridging the gap to the digital world for less technologically inclined users. A further important focus are new digital technologies that need to be geared to increasingly modern devices such as new tablets or smartphones. In doing so, it is also important to ensure that these devices have the capacity to communicate with one another. Besides networking among various users, networking of one’s devices is going to grow in importance as well. Also, users are increasingly interested in safely accessing their data at any time, especially considering the increased popularity of so-called hybrid clouds. Hybrid clouds are both faster and more flexible than conventional clouds since they do not necessarily require an Internet connection. It goes without saying that artificial intelligence too will remain one of the major trends in 2019; it will be pivotal in the entertainment fields as well as in the career and education sector. Open data and open source, due to its innovation opportunities, will play an even greater role in digitilization in the years to come as well.

That sounds exciting. Which of the above developments and trends is ONSITES likely to be involved in over the next few years?

Dr. Mathias Kunze:

ONSITES mainly devises and develops custom innovative and creative high-reach web portals in the fields of higher education, research, career, finance, tax, as well as web applications and marketing of various other industrial sectors. ONSITES will participate in those segments in terms of development and further development of web portals, thereby contributing to successfully shape the digital world.

What are ONSITES‘ USPs compared to competitors?

Dr. Mathias Kunze:

Since in today’s digital world users receive a great number of messages, ONSITES first of all centers on the digital transformation of brand. Here, choosing the right channels plays a major role. Another key factor of brand communication is relevance. Particularly in a digital framework, relevance can be gained only based on a deep understanding of the target group and the actions that are derived from it, given that users want to gather only that information from the mass of digital data that are of great relevance to them. In the context of digitilization of brand, our top keyword domains constitute a major USP. Top keyword domains have become a rare commodity in the process of digitalization. Today, round about 136 million .com domains and 15 million .net domains respectively are registered. Even the fact that the realm of domain names has been extended by several hundreds of new top-level domains is, with the exception of few new domain names, quite irrelevant in this case. Since I recognized trends and tendencies in digital business at an early stage, I already began purchasing conventional and high-quality top-level domains, which are now ready to be profitably used for ONSITES‘ web projects, some 15 years ago.

So, is ONSITES well prepared for the future?

Dr. Mathias Kunze:

ONSITES employs smart and motivated minds that have managed to leave their comfort zone in order to explore new and unknown territory. Being well prepared for the future through innovation and change is something that cannot be dictated; it arises from one’s inner conviction, and the personal determination to also take unconventional paths. Change is the source of innovative further development. Only thanks to this conscious stance, which we expect every employee to take, can the future be shaped. Last year I got on a plane and came to Bulgaria with the determination to found and set up ONSITES – irrespective of the fact that I had never been to Bulgaria before. I did not know what was to become of this endeavor. Yet I knew one thing: It feels good and right to take this step to Bulgaria. Today I get up every day to help shape and change the digital world alongside a great team. This is what I live for, and this is what I would like to say THANK YOU for at this point.
